"We can no longer do without the Rural Coordination," says the union's president, six months after the elections to the chambers of agriculture.

During these last elections, the Rural Coordination won around ten chambers, destabilizing the powerful FNSEA (National Federation of National Unions of Equality and Development). Véronique Le Floc'h, the president, reflects on this moment which, according to her, gave new impetus to her union.
On March 21, 2025, the Rural Coordination and its president Véronique Le Floc'h made a historic breakthrough in the elections in the chambers of agriculture and challenged the all-powerful FNSEA, the main agricultural union. "It's the result of all the work of our farmers in the field who have shown that they don't want to die in silence ," Véronique Le Floc'h said. " That's all you've read on our tractor blades: 'When you're small, you dream of it, when you're big, you die of it' or 'No, we won't let it happen.' "
Six months later, the Rural Coordination manages around ten of the 94 agricultural chambers. Véronique Le Floc'h affirms that her union has changed in size . "We are no longer listened to, we can no longer do without the Rural Coordination ," thunders the president of the union. If people voted for us, and there are more than 20,000 or 30,000 who voted for the Rural Coordination, it is because everyone is aware that we can no longer continue in the pursuit of the last 40 years of agricultural policies led by the FNSEA which have led us to lose 100,000 farms in ten years. "
One of the Rural Coordination's main slogans is "Let us work." The union opposes the ban on pesticides and the administration's control over farmers. It is also described as close to the far right.
"We are neither right-wing nor left-wing. In our ranks, as in other unions, we have all tendencies represented."

"We have above all a policy of rebalancing the distribution of value," she continues . "Because today the weak link is agriculture. The one who is constantly disappearing is the farmer. So we see clearly that every time there is a reform, it is the farmers who pay the price and there is no awareness. Given that the plates are full, we say to ourselves that we will do well without the farmers. Citizens will always have a source of supply, whether it suits them or not. "
Since this election, there has been no real change so far, according to her: " You don't change a chamber policy in a few months. To implement a real program, we'll certainly have to reach the end of the mandate. Today we've won eleven chambers; in six years, it might be fifty. Then, yes, we can say that farmers can hope for something different.
When asked if there will be new agricultural mobilizations this coming winter, she replied that: " It can't wait until next winter ." " No one can sit back and do nothing ," she said. "We're afraid we won't be able to resist. We've seen recent episodes in the climate, whether it's frost, hail, or disease. We're wondering how we can still resist? What we need is not moral support. We need remunerative prices for having the ability to live and face the events of tomorrow. "
Véronique Le Floc'h will complete her first term as head of rural coordination at the end of 2025 and intends to run for a second term.
